I think spending time with your girlfriends is super important! I always try to make time for it whenever possible! Saturday a girlfriend and I decided to check out a local pumpkin patch and do some wine tasting! It was such a fun day! The drive there and back gave us time to talk, listen, reflect, vent but mostly laugh! The sun was shining, we found our perfect pumpkins, took selfies, bought matching t-shirts, laughed, drank wine and even ended up having our photo posted to the pumpkin patch Facebook page! The husbands joined us later for dinner and we made plans for future double dates.
Days like that remind me how much I cherish my friends. But also made me think about how people come in and out of our lives. When I was younger I really had a hard time with this. I didn't have many friends, so losing one seemed detrimental. Having gone through this many times now it just becomes part of life and I've learned to appreciate the great times I've had with all the people who have been a part of my life during different periods of my journey. And also to accept that life changes and growing apart from people isn't a bad thing, just another chapter in the ever changing story that is the book of my life.
My sister once told me that you have different friends for different reasons. It rings so true and I think about that statement often. Every person is so diverse and brings something unique to the relationship you have with them. Like a bouquet of flowers. Learning to be grateful for the variety of colors in the bouquet of flowers that are your friends is an astonishing perception. It really helps open your mind to the opportunities these relationships bring you.
So that's what is on my mind this morning as I avoid packing for our camping trip! I am a packing procrastinator and the unpacking is even worse but I don't need to worry about that part for a few days! Happy Monday and thank you for stopping by my blog!
